Volunteers, called "Buddies", are generally 12 and over. Buddies team up with individual players at practice to help them be successful with activities and team exercises, to build relationships, and to have fun. They share a love of soccer and/or connecting with others. No soccer or other experience is necessary. Community service hours are available. Volunteer as your schedule allows.
We work closely with local High Schools to provide service hours for the Harper Promise, Schaumburg High School CEP, and other community service organizations. Groups, teams, families, and individuals welcome.
Participating in SAA TOPSoccer provides Buddies the opportunity to:
Build meaningful connections and relationships
Gain experience serving the community
Receive training and mentoring from experts who work with children with disabilities
Take on leadership roles during practices
Earn volunteer hours
Experience the joy that comes from helping others
We hope Buddies will take what that gain from TOPSoccer and apply it out in the community. Our goal is support our Buddies with being successful in TOPSoccer and beyond.
Youth Buddies are encouraged to volunteer to be "Coach of the Day" to gain leadership experience. SAA TOPSoccer Coaches will work with you to pick activities, present them to players, and help instruct players. We will work closely with Buddies and provide any assistance needed . You will receive a Certificate of Coaching at the end of the practice.
